• Inventory: There are 150 listings available.

The current average of $14,085 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,015 CAD.

That softer pricing means future sellers may not see the same return they would have a year ago, especially if market conditions stay competitive. On the other hand, the model's value-focused reputation and efficient everyday character can help keep it appealing to budget-minded shoppers. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Kicks or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a practical, value-focused subcompact SUV and the 2018 fits your budget, it is a strong place to start. You should especially consider it if you prioritise affordability, fuel economy, and everyday usefulness over performance. If you are highly price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a slightly newer example offers a better mix of condition and asking price.
