Is the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating suggests you should expect a well-liked used SUV. The 2018 Outlander stands out because it offers third-row seating, standard all-wheel drive on later models, and a practical feature set that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want a compact SUV with extra passenger capacity and a clear family-focused identity, it fits that brief well. With 26.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 Outlander’s appeal is helped by strong warranties, and its practical layout gives it a straightforward ownership proposition. At the same time, the model’s weaker performance from four-cylinder versions and its less polished feel than some rivals mean you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history when shopping used. For long-term ownership, that makes a careful inspection especially important if you want to avoid buying a tired example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 95 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,660 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $14,684 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,651 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2018 Outlander has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can make it more attractive to used buyers than to future sellers. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may be able to limit further value loss. The model’s practical packaging and broad appeal help, but the softer pricing trend means resale gains are unlikely to be dramatic.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2018 if you want the Outlander’s distinctive mix of third-row seating, available all-wheel drive, and useful tech at a price that has already eased. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2018 is the better fit when you want the strongest blend of value, practicality, and market availability.
