Lets start with the obvious, this car looks amazing. I prefer red but the black and blue also look very nice. The interior doesnt slack either. Its very sleek. The seats are comfortable but I feel like Honda could have gone with a more bolstered feel like the si and type R, but they still look and feel amazing, especially on cold days with the super toasty seat warmers. In 1st gear the acceleration is a little slow, but after 3k rpm, the power really kicks in and it takes off. It sounds ok, definitely would have preferred an exhaust system with some rumble to it. All of the features are pretty solid, though Im a bit disappointed that there isnt an interface to see tire pressure for each tire. Instead you get the basic low tire pressure light with no indication which tire it is. For the top model in this line, youd think it would have all the features, but it doesnt. The infotainment is pretty standard, definitely would have liked something better than what feels like a $200 android tablet from Walmart. The sound system is pretty awesome. Feels like its missing some bass, but overall it sounds fantastic. Theres no cabin noise like you get on the sport and base model, so that was a relief. The right lane camera and back up camera are nice to have, tho the resolution is pretty low, still does a good job. Theres plenty of cargo space, especially when you lower the rear seats. They ALMOST lay flat with the hatch bed. Overall its a very good vehicle. Its comfortable, stylish, fast, loaded with features, and it feels safe.

How much does the 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $18,677 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $17,980 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $19,968 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $19,936 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.32% |
Prices have softened 6.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 120 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback a good car?
Yes — the 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback earns a 4.5/5 user rating, and owners consistently praise its stylish design, great handling, and spacious interior. Many also like the driving experience and fuel efficiency, which makes it appealing if you want a practical hatchback that still feels enjoyable to drive. With 26.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially because of its fuel efficiency and overall driving experience. That said, some shoppers note concerns with the infotainment system and button layout, so you should make sure the controls feel intuitive to you before buying. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is whether the specific car has been well maintained and whether its features still suit your daily routine.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback?
This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some patience and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $17,980 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?
The current average of $18,677 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,936 CAD.
That softer pricing can be helpful if you're buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If the market stays near this level, resale value should remain fairly stable rather than sharply rising. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a well-liked hatchback with strong owner satisfaction and a market that has eased a bit, the 2018 is a sensible place to start. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced examples rather than the model year alone.
