Is the 2017 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, and roomy interior, and many feel it delivers good value for its features and performance. That fits a full-size pickup aimed at buyers who want proven capability and a truck that can handle work and everyday use. Is the 2017 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, with many drivers describing the truck as dependable and worth counting on. The broader model-year overview reinforces that reputation, pointing to a long-running durability story and a second-generation platform that is viewed favourably for reliability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that wear-and-tear issues can still show up, so a careful inspection matters even on a truck with a strong reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Tundra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 59 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,757 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $36,782 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,910 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. Even so, the Tundra’s reputation for durability and strong owner satisfaction helps support demand over time. If you keep the truck in good condition and maintain it well, that should help protect its value better than many rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want a full-size pickup with proven owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains the better fit when you value reputation, demand, and a solid used-market position.
