Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Corolla?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,534 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $15,551 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,651 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Corolla is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you enter ownership at a lower cost. For a future seller, that also means resale expectations should stay grounded unless market conditions improve. The model’s steady reputation and broad appeal should still support demand, but you should not expect a dramatic price premium.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,456 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,551 CAD average.
• It focuses on value and fuel economy.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the newer update, stronger standard equipment, and a still-reasonable market price. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you can live with a simpler package.
