Is the 2017 Porsche Macan a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Porsche Macan earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, handling, and overall performance, and they also highlight the luxurious feel and build quality. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want a compact SUV that feels more engaging and premium than practical-first rivals. Is the 2017 Porsche Macan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Macan’s build quality and the confidence it inspires over the long term. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used luxury SUV you can count on rather than one that feels risky to own.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the vehicle’s core appeal and more about making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Porsche Macan?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, compare, and wait for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding value.
• Inventory: There are 191 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,654 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $24,918 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,371 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The Macan’s premium positioning and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, but resale value will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness, the 2017 is the year to focus on. If your priority is simply the lowest purchase price, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but you may give up some of the 2017’s broader appeal and market momentum.
