Is the 2017 Porsche Macan a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, handling, and overall performance, along with the luxurious feel and build quality. That fits the Macan’s role as a compact SUV for you if you want Porsche character, a fun drive, and premium appeal without moving up to a larger SUV. Is the 2017 Porsche Macan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on its trouble-free ownership experience, strong build quality, and the kind of long-term confidence you want from a premium SUV. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about basic reliability and more about the higher-cost nature of a performance-focused luxury vehicle over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Porsche Macan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 188 listings available.

If you find a listing below $24,643 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $25,151 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,403 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy near the current average and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Demand should remain supported by the Macan’s premium image and strong owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want the Macan’s performance-first personality, premium feel, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with a lower average price may be the better path, but the 2017 remains the more compelling pick if you value the balance of driving enjoyment and owner satisfaction.
