This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re shopping carefully.

• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.20% compared with last year.

The current average of $12,164 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,244 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The current pricing also shows that demand is still present, just more selective than before.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Outlander makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV with third-row flexibility, a more modern cabin, and pricing that has moved in your favour. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better pick when you want the updated features and practical versatility without stretching your budget too far.
