Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for a used crossover, and it fits the CX-3’s role as a compact, city-friendly entry point into Mazda’s crossover range. The overview points to a sporty character, a well-equipped base trim, and a strong safety and efficiency story for its class, while also noting that practicality is not its strongest suit. The market also shows 34.2% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

The overview presents it as a straightforward small crossover with a clear focus on Mazda’s sporty character, accessible packaging, and a strong safety and efficiency story for its class. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about whether the compact cabin and limited cargo space will still suit your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mazda CX-3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find decent value.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 117 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.89% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $13,842 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,890 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less room for appreciation later, so condition and equipment will matter when it comes time to resell. The CX-3’s compact size and sporty appeal should still help it attract interest from shoppers looking for an efficient city crossover.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 CX-3 makes the most sense if you want a compact, city-friendly crossover with a sporty feel and you’re comfortable trading away some rear-seat and cargo space. If price is your top priority, the current market gives you enough deal availability to shop selectively and focus on the best-maintained examples.
