Is the 2017 MINI Countryman a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked used SUV. That kind of owner feedback points to strong overall satisfaction, especially if you want a small crossover with broad appeal. With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop carefully and still find value.

Is the 2017 MINI Countryman reliable?

For a used buyer, that kind of feedback can reduce some ownership risk, but you should still focus on maintenance history and condition because age and mileage matter more as the vehicle gets older.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 MINI Countryman?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a decent example.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 48 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,302 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 MINI Countryman's resale value?

The current average of $14,220 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,790 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the market tightens again. If you plan to sell later, buying at the lower end of the range gives you a better chance of protecting your value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 MINI Countryman or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a used Countryman with proven owner appeal and a softer price than last year. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
