Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its handling, comfortable ride, fun driving experience, performance, and value. That fits the Wrangler’s use case well if you want a vehicle with genuine off-road character and everyday usability, rather than a polished road-focused SUV. With 28.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with reviewers highlighting performance and value in a way that suggests you can count on it for the long haul. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core appeal and more about checking condition carefully, since some owners noted discrepancies between listing photos and the vehicle’s actual state.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 334 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,781 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $20,781 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,051 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more competitive for sellers. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to last year’s higher level. The Wrangler’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand, but resale will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want the Wrangler’s classic off-road personality with modern convenience and you can find one in good condition at a fair price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than chasing a specific badge year.
