Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse. That lines up well with its family-first design, roomy three-row layout, and minivan-like cargo capacity when the seats are folded. The feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, especially when it comes to comfort, space, and overall ownership experience. At the same time, used buyers should still inspect carefully, because long-term ownership risk can rise if a previous owner skipped maintenance or if the vehicle has been heavily used as a family hauler.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 66 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.69% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,409 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $13,686 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,256 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Traverse easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, family-focused three-row SUV and you value current pricing more than chasing the newest redesign, the 2017 is the sensible path. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
