Is the 2016 Porsche Macan a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Porsche Macan earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out because it blends Porsche-style performance with compact SUV practicality, while still feeling more focused on driving enjoyment than most rivals. You also get a premium compact SUV with all-wheel drive, a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a high-quality interior, so it suits you if you want something that feels fast and engaging rather than merely comfortable. The market also shows 31.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Porsche Macan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Macan is described as having a good reliability record, and its standard equipment is already generous, which can help reduce the need for immediate fixes or upgrades after purchase. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that sporty, higher-powered versions can be more demanding to live with, especially if you want lower running costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Porsche Macan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 117 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,859 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $22,301 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,502 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Macan more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale expectations should be grounded in the current softer pricing environment rather than last year’s higher benchmark. Even so, the model’s premium badge and driver-focused appeal should help it remain desirable if it is well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the earlier Macan formula with strong performance, a premium interior, and a more driver-focused personality, the 2016 is the right path. If your priority is simply finding the lowest entry price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains a compelling choice when you value the balance of equipment, character, and market softness.
