If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average.

Should I buy a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is the better path if you want the Range Rover Sport’s luxury, performance, and versatility at a softer price point than newer examples. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out when you find a clean, well-priced listing with strong maintenance records.
