Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL's resale value?

The current average of $12,054 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,207 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future depreciation feel less abrupt if you buy at the right price. If you plan to sell later, entering at a lower purchase price can help protect your overall value position. Strong demand for well-reviewed used vehicles can also support resale performance when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current value, buyer satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2016 is a sensible place to focus your search. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the appeal of this year’s current market position.
