Is the 2016 Ford Focus a good car?

The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers find reliable and easy to live with over time, with comments about dependable day-to-day use and a trouble-free feel. At the same time, some owners mention engine responsiveness and gearshift smoothness as things to watch.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still pay close attention to how the transmission and throttle response feel on a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Focus?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 19.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 94 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,289 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Focus's resale value?

The current average of $8,701 CAD sits slightly below last year's $9,859 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be a mixed signal if you're thinking about future resale. On one hand, lower purchase prices can help you buy in at a more attractive point. On the other hand, a softer market can limit how much value you recover later if prices continue to ease.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Focus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 19.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Ford Focus makes sense if you want a used compact car with solid owner satisfaction and a softer price trend. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year deserves a close look; if you want to compare value across nearby years, you may also want to check whether a slightly newer or older example offers a better mix of price and inventory.
