CarGurus Analysis: 2016 Chevrolet Cruze
Summary
With 32 currently listed for sale near Montreal, QC and an average price of $6,470.00 CAD, 31.3% of 2016 Chevrolet Cruzes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze 4.1 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze stands out as the start of a redesigned second generation that aimed to correct the weaknesses of the original car. Chevrolet improved fuel economy, added more rear seat room, and brought in modern safety and infotainment technologies. It was also offered in sedan and hatchback form, giving buyers a more versatile compact car than before.
For 2016, the Cruze came only with a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine making 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. That engine could use as little as 6.8 L/100 km combined, which made it a strong choice for shoppers who wanted efficiency without giving up everyday drivability. The cabin also leaned into value, with the base Cruze L getting a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, OnStar, Bluetooth, keyless entry, and steering wheel-mounted controls. Higher trims could add features such as a sunroof, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and active safety systems including automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alerts, blind spot alerts, and lane departure warnings with lane keep assist.
What makes the 2016 Cruze especially appealing is that it combines low running costs with a much better reliability reputation than the earlier car. Consumer Reports rated the 2017 and 2018 models above average, and CarComplaints.com showed far fewer and less serious complaints than for first-generation Cruzes. The main caution is that some reliability trackers still gave the second-generation car middling marks, and Consumer Reports rated the 2016 models for electrical problems. Even so, the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze offers a practical mix of efficiency, features, and improved refinement that helps it feel like a more complete compact car.

Absolutely love this car! We ended up buying the 2016 Cruze with 33k on it. It is getting an average of 32mpg in town and around 45mpg on the highway!! We have driven A LOT this week and still have a quarter of a tank. The features are great too. Simple enough to use (not a technology overload) but tech enough to be much more convenient. For instance, I have used cars that connect (like this one does) to you phone with Bluetooth but when you actually make a call, it keeps disconnecting OR the other person has a hard time hearing you. My mom, who is hard of hearing, says it is easier and clearer for her to hear me when I use my phone in the car over the car speakers than when I use my high quality blue tooth headset or use the phone normally. I have a late model iPhone so it is impressive that using it with my Cruze car speakers sounds better. The car is also more comfortable in my opinion, than the 2009 Malibu we traded in. Also, lots of trunk space and leg room in the back seat. In addition, it is easy for me to see around me in this car. I am short and sometimes that can be a challenge. At the same time, it is comfortable for my husband, who is tall. We LOVE this car!

This little car has been great so far in the three days I had it. It has a nice pick up in power and the ride is smooth. It takes awhile for the A/C to cool down the car but is overall a nice car to have for both my daughter and myself.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or consider a different year?
