There are 93 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Buick Encore a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Buick Encore earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, upscale interior, and stylish design, and many also like the spacious feel and available features that make it seem more luxurious than you might expect from a compact SUV. The main trade-off in the reviews is engine power, especially for highway driving. With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Buick Encore reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on its smooth ride and overall comfort. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for regular driving if the specific used example has been maintained properly.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the engine and highway performance match your needs before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Buick Encore?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 93 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,765 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Buick Encore's resale value?

The current average of $12,159 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,140 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the Encore easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you purchase at a strong price, you may be better positioned to protect your value later. The current range also shows there is still a clear ceiling for what shoppers are paying, so condition and pricing will matter a lot when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Buick Encore or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact SUV with strong owner satisfaction, a comfortable ride, and a market that has softened, the 2016 Buick Encore is a sensible place to start. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you should also compare nearby model years and focus on the best-priced examples, especially those near the lower end of the current range.
