How much does the 2016 BMW X5 cost?

There are 108 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW X5 earns a 4.75/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, luxurious interior, and features, and many say the powerful engine and sporty driving experience are hard to beat. For you, that makes sense if you want a luxury SUV that still puts driving feel at the centre of the experience and offers a roomy cabin with generous cargo space. With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market value to compare while you shop.

Is the 2016 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people enjoy living with over time, especially because of its performance and premium feel. The same feedback also suggests that reliability concerns are not the main story for every owner, but the model’s complexity means you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle has been cared for. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is mainly tied to repair exposure and upkeep costs rather than day-to-day appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X5?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find value if you compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 108 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,543 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $19,896 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,025 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the X5 more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to protect value later. The current trend also means you should be realistic about resale expectations if you plan to move on in a few years.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the X5’s blend of luxury, practicality, and engaging road manners, especially now that prices have eased. If you are more price-sensitive, nearby model years may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a strong choice when you find a well-priced example with solid history.
