At the same time, the user feedback highlights recurring transmission issues, so reliability concerns are part of the ownership picture for some drivers. For long-term ownership, the main risk is ending up with a car that needs more attention than you’d expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Focus?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 18.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 127 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $6,848 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Ford Focus's resale value?

The current average of $7,059 CAD sits slightly below last year's $7,439 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside exposure later than someone who paid closer to the top of the range. The current inventory level also means buyers have options, which can keep resale pressure on sellers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford Focus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 18.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 Ford Focus makes sense if you want a used compact car with strong fuel economy, good features, and a price that has eased from last year. If you’re price-sensitive, this year is worth a close look, especially when you find a listing near the lower end of the range. If you want to be more cautious, compare it carefully against other model years and focus on examples with clear maintenance records.
