CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Audi Q5

Summary
With 85 currently listed for sale and an average price of $10,926 CAD, 32.9% of 2014 Audi Q5 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Audi Q5 4.64 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2014 Audi Q5 stands out as a premium compact SUV that blends luxury, practicality, and standard all-wheel drive. By this point in the first generation, Audi had broadened the Q5’s range beyond its original V6-only start, and the 2014 model year brought a stronger 2.0T engine, plus two new additions: the Q5 TDI diesel and the high-performance SQ5. That gives the 2014 Q5 a wider spread of personalities than many rivals, from efficient everyday use to a more performance-focused character. It also benefits from Audi’s well-finished cabin and the sense of solidity that has long been part of the model’s appeal.
Equipment is another strength. Even early Q5 models came with 18-inch alloy wheels, power heated front seats and outboard mirrors, leather upholstery, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker audio system, and Sirius satellite radio. The Q5’s standard quattro system and its reputation for a smooth, comfortable ride help reinforce its upscale feel, while the roomy interior and large trunk make it easy to live with. Owners also tend to praise its comfort, performance, and desirable features.
There are a few caveats to keep in mind. The first-generation Q5 has a mixed reliability record, with excessive oil consumption and timing chain issues among the more notable concerns, especially on 2.0T models. Some owners also report rattling or leaking panoramic sunroofs and noisy suspension from failing control arms. Even so, the 2014 Audi Q5 remains appealing if you want a well-equipped luxury SUV with a polished driving experience and a strong feature set.

Great value and fun to drive. This car is very fun to drive it handles well in town and on the highway. It gets great gas mileage being a 4cyl. But the turbo charged 2.0 provides plenty of torque and power to get up and go when needed.

Carland Auto Group did a great job in presentation and financial pricing of the 2014 Audi Q5 TDI. I like this vehicle very much. The Audi had everything I wanted a vehicle to have.

This car has an insane amount of features. It drives so well it could turn on a dime. I had a Lexus RX400h prior to this car and while I loved that car it was very bulky and heavy so it was harder to stop and didnt turn nearly as tight as the Audi. The Audis MMI features are great, the way that it is laid out with the all of the media controls being on the steering wheel and right next to the gear shift makes it so easy to use without taking your eyes off the road. It also allows you to see your GPS route, media, and telephone on the dashboard in the middle of your RPMS and MPHs which makes it super simple to use. You can also insert two SD cards at once and import your media onto the cars hard drive which is great. The car sounds amazing when accelerating and has some ok power behind it. The manual automatic shifting is fun to use and allows you to accelerate way faster IMO but it is somewhat pointless other than to have some fun!

| Year-Round High | $14,000 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $13,964 CAD |

There are 86 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2014 Audi Q5 a good car?
Yes — the 2014 Audi Q5 earns a 4.64/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its performance, comfort, and desirable features, and they also highlight its smooth ride and stylish design. That fits well if you want a premium compact SUV that balances luxury, practicality, and everyday usefulness. With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Audi Q5 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling driving experience, with many describing the Q5 as comfortable and trouble-free in day-to-day use. The same reviews often mention that it feels solid and well put together, which supports confidence for longer ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that maintenance history matters a lot, so a careful inspection is especially important.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Audi Q5?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy if you’re shopping now.
- Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 86 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 22.00% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $10,891 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Audi Q5's resale value?
The current average of $10,891 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,964 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Q5 easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should pay close attention to purchase price and condition, because those factors will matter more when it’s time to list. A well-kept example with strong equipment and a clean history should still attract interest from shoppers looking for a premium compact SUV.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 22.00% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2014 Audi Q5 makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped premium SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price. If your priority is value and you like having more room to negotiate, the 2014 is the better target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than chasing a specific badge year.
