Thsi car is extremely safe. I owned a Tiguan prior to this one. In the first Tiguan I was involved ina multi car pileup, where I was not at fault. My Tiguan was struck once by a Ford Escape at full speed and then a ful-size Mack truck dump truck. The VW's body panels were torn to shreds, airbags deployed, windows burst and my Tiguan became airborn becasue of the impact of the dump truck. Im luck to be alive. And I know if it werent for all of the safety designed into this vehicle, I would not be here to share this experience. Im all healed physically now but I immediately bought a second Tiguan 7 days after this wreck to restore my sense of protection.
