Used 2010 Porsche Boxster for Sale near Guelph, ON

I have driven a lot of cars in 52 years: 8 Porsches, 5 Volvos, 3 BMWs, 3 VWs and a couple of Chevy trucks and drove them over million miles, averaging 30,000 miles per year most of the time due to business use,. So my cars lasted a long time due to highway miles. (Tire wear high and brake wear low). While the Volvos took care of my need to haul people when my kids were around, nothing has compared to the Porsches for pure driving enjoyment. The last four have been Boxsters. I prefer the visibility of a convertible and the handling of the mid-engine to be an ideal car. I have enjoyed freeway cruising in my 335i hardtop convertible, but went back to the Boxster as soon as I could. If I had purchased a manual trans 135i convertible, it probably would have been more to my taste. Here are a couple of explanations of my ratings above: Power - I prefer the Boxster S trim. My last one was a 2005 with 285 HP. I thought maybe this pristine Base model with 255 HP would satisfy me. It comes close but the 50% increase in torque is where the Power is with the S. I felt that I did not want payments above $600, but I did want the 3rd generation NAV system. Wrong! I can live without the NAV, but not without the S. I used to drive the back roads 25 times a year for a project meeting in another city. I used the power of the S for 2 lane road passing. I still enjoy the road with the 255 HP. I think I will ultimately get used to it and not feel that I need the S, but if I had it to do over again, the NAV doesn't bring me the satisfaction that the additional horsepower did. Back Seats: I rate these highly because there are NONE. Never had better back seats in my life. Brakes: Check with a salesman that has really been to the Porsche schools and they can tell you how Porsche tests the brakes on their cars. They are designed to do ten stops from top speed in a row without fade or loss of function. If you like to drive, your most important component is brakes. Of course, if the car is great at handling, you may never need the brakes. You might think I am kidding about the cargo capacity like I did about the back seats. Count 'em - 10 cubic feet, exceeding any sports car due to the front and back storage spaces. Two rollaboards fit in the deep well in the front. (Forget the soft luggage. My standard Briggs & Reilly lifetime guarantee units work fine.) Two large rolling briefcases or my wife's similarly sized wheeled toiletries bag fit fine with a soft garment bag thinly packed on top. Compare this to my wife's New Beetle convertible at 7 cu. ft. Of course, we can pack another 15 cu. ft. in the back seat. As far as mileage goes, I get 25 to 26 mpg driving 80 mph down toll road 130 (legal speed). When I drive fast to my taste from starts and stops on 2 lane roads with the top down, the mileage drops to 19 to 22, If you wanted to enter a mileage contest with this car, you could milk 29 mpg or more out of it on the hwy, I have mostly purchased certified used cars from dealers to get a minimum of 2 years warranty (and up to 100,000 miles.) While I have had few uses for the warranty, it has saved me a considerable amount of money for things like a broken key and a water pump, BUT probably not the $2000 that I paid extra for the warranty. If you buy a well cared for low mileage car, I think you would be money ahead to by from a private seller or dealer without the certification, saving $2,000 to $5,000 on the purchase. I sold my 2005 S with 66,000 miles on it after purchasing it with 16,000 miles. I am confident it would go another 100,000 miles without major problems due to the high percentage of highway miles that I drove it.
