Used 2010 GMC Acadia for Sale near Longueuil, QC
4.5 Overall rating
(2 reviews)Ive had my 2010 Acadia for about 7 years now. Bought for $8500 with 149K ...First off, it is a very good AWD crossover. It handles rocks, gravel, snow and even deep slippery mud fairly well. It loves long interstate drives, then averaging about 17mpg . It has a large number of cupholders, cubbies and other storage crannies. It has tons of power accessories, XM Radio, heated seats, dual sunroof option, though only one is designed to open/close the other is a solid window basically. It seats 7 comfortably, has a very good ride and the gauges are brightly lit and easy to see. My wife drove it 70 miles a day for 6 years and weve even driven it to Florida and back from VA, and it now has 252K miles. That being said, if you buy any of the Acadia, Outlook, Traverse SUV/crossovers get ready to write down what you will be encountering :) *Change the oil every 3000 miles & add Lucas oil treatment (if you wait to 5000 or more between changes youll regret it ) *About every other year I replace the headlights/fog lights *Replace the accessory belt every 20K miles *Replaced the battery 2 times *Replaced the drivers tail light assembly twice ( fills w/ water ) *Replaced the brakes three times all around *Replaced the rear supports for the hatch once at around 160,000 *changed the plugs/coils at 175K *replaced all 4 cam sensors at 175K >> IF you get the dreaded codes for timing on the 3.6L - check these first! They fail a lot faster than the timing chains! * at 180K miles I noticed my transmission would get stuck in 2nd gear - I learned to pull over. Shut down, count to 5 and restart and would go back to normal. This trick has served me very well for more than 70K miles! *At about 200K, I replaced all 4 motor mounts and the flex-pipe to the exhaust and all 4 struts/shocks and entire steering rack - whew! * At 225K, I had to replace the motorized actuators that keep the AC/Heat working deep in the dash - then shortly after that, the rear prop rod that holds the tailgate up completely broke! wow! * At 230K , the entire stereo system blew out with a very loud crackle and POP! Sunroof drain got clogged and dumped water into the fuses Fun Fact: This system is also used to make sounds for turn signals, warning klaxons, backup beeper etc...$$$$ to fix, so instead I canceled XM, and now its very ...quiet.. inside. * At 250K I had to replace the front dash blower motor and resistor as the old one would rattle and fail usually when it was bone cold outside * At 251K the starter imploded just 100 yards from my service shop ( really! ) Last week at 252,000 miles the heater hoses failed at the weak point of the plastic coupler and the whole bundle had to be replaced ... Today 7 years later, the paint looks almost new except on the luggage rack on the roof - its averaging about 14 mpg. it still runs well, but the transmission is starting to stutter on hills. So I bought a low mile transmission to hold onto for a rainy day All told, in 7 years I probably have about $ 3500 in repairs, many I did myself, or had a mechanic friend fix. (The big stuff got done at shops) So it seems kind of expensive to keep... And yet, Id buy another! In fact just got a low mile Traverse last summer and love it:) We have lots of teenage grandkids with tons of places to go every week, so despite the costs these two vehicles have been a real Blessing! Any vehicle will cost you repairs, car payments etc. But this 2010 Acadia is fun, big and cheap to insure as it is its 14 yrs old:)
