(19 reviews)I received this truck as a gift for my 16th birthday, after I had gotten my liscense, and I have been driving it ever since. I've never had any problems with the engine, and general maintenance is cheap and easy. The car handles well, and can accelerate like any car ever could, while at the same time, it can haul just like a larger truck. It also gets great gas mileage.
Easy to drive with enough room for every day tasks. Will haul its own weight plus with ease and barely feel the drag. Has plenty of power and is comfortable for long drives. Controls are conveniently located with ease of access to everything. Good heat and A/C. Sound isolation is good, outside noises hard to hear in the cab with windows up. Seems pretty reliable, no problems yet.
The 2008 Frontier is a solid performer in a sea of compact pickups. With a 4.0L V6 engine paired with the 6-speed manual, this truck delivers a high level of torque at low RPMs. The acceleration is quick for a vehicle of this magnitude, with 0-60 times at around 7.x seconds. While it doesn't quite handle like a car, it provides a sure grip on the road without that truck-like feel. This truck is built as tough as they come. The interior craftsmanship, while very bland, is well put together without any rattles or signs of disrepair. The appearance of the interior and exterior is very spartan compared to its competitors, but it still maintains a solid truck-type appeal. Pickups usually get a bad stigma for their gas mileage, but this truck is breaking the mold. It was able to achieve 21 mpg in the city, with an average of 18. It has not been taken in for any major repairs. This car is filled with just the right amount of power for the average person to haul or tow boats, tools, etc., and it is the perfect size for anyone looking for a capable vehicle without the magnitude of a mid- or full-size pickup.
Love the back seat and the 4x4 option
Great reliable truck except watch out for 2005 models thru 2010 radiators. Closely monitor coolant for any signs of the pink milkshake of death. Better yet get a new radiator. They are inexpensive and fairly easy to install yourself (see tube video).
