Since arriving in 2001, the Ford Escape has been a stalwart among compact crossovers and sport utility vehicles. This year, Ford refreshes the trucklet’s design with a chrome grille, a taller beltline, and less (but more heavily styled) plastic cladding on the running boards. But with the same set of engines and bones underneath, will the new-look Escape be able to keep up as a new car within a rapidly improving class?

120,000 miles and only two days in the shop. Once for a manufacturer's recall on the radiator and another for a worn pulley. With regular maintenance, this SUV has served me well as a daily driver, emergency response vehicle, and equipment hauler for just about everything. It's great in the snow and ice, and drives smoothly for long days on the road. I would highly recommend the V6 as it doesn't leave you wanting for more on the highway and pulls your average trailer with ease.

I have three right now, ranging 2008 to 2012. I have owned many escapes with this year range. I love them, great gas mileage, very simple. Lots of room. Will continue to buy.
