Used 2006 Toyota RAV4 Base AWD for Sale near North Cowichan, BC

Coulda had a V6. Bought the cheapest model because I didn't think I would keep it for very long. Realize now that might need a bigger vehicle for 2 kids. unless your older child is old enough to use a booster. it gets kinda tight in the 2nd row if you're managing 2 car seats. sporty is not a good word... but handles better than most CUVs. The electric steering gives fake feedback. 4wd is only good for getting out of snow. at highway speeds on snow, still need to watch your self. its also ridiculous that dealers say its ok for this engine to use up a quart of oil every 1,500 miles or so. I thought they were lying until google search showed other owners have been told the same, and their RAVs have more miles than mine. might consider another one if one with V6, 4wd and 3rd row, in newer Limited trim, i.e. rear camera, blue tooth but still have the spare tire in the back. but those are rare Wish it has rear air vents. The ones in the front are not angled well enough and the AC is pretty weak for the 100 deg + summers.

This vehicle is fun to drive, versatile, reliable and easy on the gas. I like that the 4WD can be switched on and off and the 7 passenger seating is convenient when I need it. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Compared to other Toyotas, the Rav4 is a bit of a disappointment. The interior is laden with cheap plastics and the exterior paint job is extremely thin, chipping from any and all road debris. Acceleration is terrible -- reving to 4,000 rpms going from 0-45 and still taking 10 or more seconds to do so. This car would definitely benefit from more horsepower. Brakes and steering are a little soft (but that is expected with Toyota) and road noise is pretty loud. Seats are also very stiff and begin fraying pretty easily. On the plus side, it has lots of cargo space, a decent CD/AM/FM system with aux input, and reasonable legroom as well as good gas mileage.
