Used 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt for Sale near St. Albert, AB

The car is base LT four-door model. Bought the car nearly brand-new with less than 100 miles on it. Never have had to fix a thing on it yet, and it's got nearly 27,000 miles on it now. It's reliable, but it's only been two years. However, the car is one of the lowest costing cars GM offers, and the interior shows this. It's rated at one of the "healthiest" looking interiors, but it's very blah (my interior is the tan with silver accents). The car is a little small for four passengers to be seated in there for some time. Surprisingly, the available trunk space is quite large. Performance wise, it only has 140 some horsepower, so it's not the fastest car on the block. The handling is around the same level, along with the braking. The ride is decent. I do not have ABS, and have gotten into a couple of scary situations because of it. ABS is nice to have, but you still can avoid accidents without it. I was wary of driving the car during the winter with snow/ice for braking concerns, but at the end of the winter I preferred driving my car over friend's cars. The reason for this is because alot of the road can be felt through the stearing wheel. I knew exactly when my wheels would start spinning, and could easily adjust steering to counteract any slipping. I do get decent gas mileage. During the summer, my in-town driving gets around 26-28mpg, and highway can be as high as 36mpg. In-town mpg suffers during the winter and drops down to 23 mpg.

Purchashed a 2006 Colbalt LT two months ago and loved it from the start. Only issue was the front end which was under warranty and parts replaced. No further problems. Gas mileage is the best average 28 miles per gallon. Lots of zip and a smooth ride.

The best reason to buy a Cobalt is to get one for very cheap with 100k+ miles and then just drive it into the ground. Spending 5k+ on this car would be a travesty given what else you can find for those prices. I wouldn't buy it if I were going to drive 15k miles a year because the fuel economy is below average for this class. The comfort is ok but the internal look is cheap plastic galore.

PERFORMANCE: Well, it's a 2.2L 4-cylinder, paired with an automatic transmission. It performs as it should. You won't get whiplash if you punch it from a stop, but the tires will chirp on a hot day! BUILD QUALITY: It's a sturdy little work horse. It has some rattles and groans, but nothing out of the ordinary. APPEARANCE: Not bad for a family-minded commuter car. COST: Knock on wood, it's a very budget oriented car. The 13 gallon fuel tank will take you quite a distance from full to fumes! FUN FACTOR: I admit, it's not a Corvette, Trans Am, or even my dream (the Solstice), but this little bugger can maneuver through the arroyos of the desert, and get you out into places you would only see 4X4's. Now, don't go rock climbing, or mud-bogging, but if you take your time, and know where your wheels are, this determined worker bee will always put a smile on your face, and a new destination on your list of "places traveled to."

Colby the Cobalt is my baby! I got him for a really good price and I have no complaints. He's cheap on gas and can be a lot of fun to drive. Chevy runs deep and he certainly proves it!!
