Performance – Great, but highly limited from factory. NEEDS aftermarket upgrades to reach full potential. Increases of 30% in crank horsepower and torque from simple full intake and exhaust mods. With an ECU, larger injectors, intake/MBC & exhaust, these cars put down 215-230 whp... From 178hp stock, that's a huge increase. Build Quality – Excellent for it's size and type. Some rattles, but I expected much worse from a car with this kind of suspension setup. Appearance – Excellent, but smallest vehicle on the road meaning you're nearly invisible to some drivers and are a rock chip and door ding magnet. Watch out. Cost of Ownership – Medium. Fun Factor – Outstanding.

2004 Mazdaspeed MIATA is just a hoot to drive! It responds well to every situation and it is pretty well up to the driver to determine the limits. Shifts easily and quickly. Handles very well in every situation that you find yourself in. Besides all of the above, it looks GREAT!

this car was fast and so much fun to drive. It would get up to speed very quickly and could take a turn at high speed so easily.

174 rear wheel kilowatts (otherwise known as 230 brake horsepower) in a light rear wheel drive car with big brakes and limited slip diff makes for a lot of fun. Hopefully it'll be even better when the motor is mended and improved.
