(7 reviews)The Ford Taurus had some years where Ford ignored it and quality and reliability were an issue. For 2004, this was not a problem as Ford started paying attention again. The SES has all the standard features for mid value sedans of that year. The 3.0 L engine is a little weak for a car this size but it is adequate. Just don't expect it to put you back in your seat if you hit the gas to get on the freeway. Ford doesn't seem to think people want or need second gear. I've noted several models over the years that did not have a second gear on the automatic gear selectors. I find a second gear in heavy traffic keeps the car from shifting constantly.
I've had some fun in my taurus its one the taurus models that has 201bhp witch is ok for the type of car it is it has some pickup witch is good though it goes 0-60 in about 7 seconds not exactly a racer. It has some pretty good handling but tends to oversteer a bit but its not too difficult to contol
Build quality: the Vulcan V6 motor seems dependable, but has a lot of quirks that can sap up gas mileage and lead to longer problems down the road. Most of this little repair items are relatively inexpensive but require some research and knowledge to repair yourself or get done without paying for endless diagnostics. Performance: not much to talk about here - it does its job as a commuter and family car, and does it comfortably. It won't give you much past that. Keep up with alignments and rotations if you want a smooth ride. Mileage isn't great (see engine quirks above) but can be decent if engine is in good order. Maintenance: Low costs make this a great go-to commuter, which is what I use it for. Hard to beat $20 oil changes and low repair costs. Overall: Dependable, cheap, but quirky family/commuter car.
my favorite thing about the car is its roomy inside but it doesn't take away form the power of the car like some vehicles the car still has a lot of go in it good for kids who wanna cruise with friends or a family that wants to go somewhere
the brakes are very touchy, acceleration is something you very notice: picks up very fast. only thing is the bumpers are a bit weak but only 60 bucks a bumper its not much a problem. This car is a 6 cyliander so its drinks gas but shows u how much you have till empty. low maintence, and loud speakers make this an ok car. This car is also a work horse!!!!! we put 220,000 miles plus an shes still working it!!! so treat ur cars right an they can do the same for you.
