(5 reviews)The good: This van is great looking, very comfortable, handles well, has lots of power, and is great to drive. The captains chairs, rear bucket seats, tv, rear air, and leather make it a comfortable ride for everyone. It's really great for long trips. The 4-wheel disc antilock breaks are nice and I have always felt very safe driving this vehicle. The 3.8 V6 makes for quick acceleration and can handle hauling all your peeps easy. The bad: Ugh where do I start? As soon as it rolled over on 140k miles, I started having trouble with it. I have 189k miles on it now. I've replaced the transmission, engine, radiator, and a/c compressor as well as other smaller parts. The driver's side rear door motor went first, then the passenger side. The doors still open manually, but not with the buttons anymore. The gas mileage on the 3.8 V6 sucks, about 19mpg on a good day. Because of the mechanical problems I've had with this vehicle (and the cost of repairs!!), I will NEVER own another Chrysler, Dodge, or Plymouth product.
We have had our van since it had 18,000 miles, now it has 175,000 it has been great, but we have the bigger 3.8 engine and have taken care of it, oil changes nipped any noises in the bud etc. we have the leather seats which have held up vary well, but they aren't the most comfortable in the year model. It has handled very good and in the mountains has done very well, except on steep downhill grades the brakes will get very hot, its very heavy and you feel it then. over all we have not had any major repairs and hope to drive it for about 100,000 miles!
we picked this up when it was ten years old, but it only had 22,000 miles on it. It literally looked and even smelled like a brand new car. It has plenty of room for lots of people and their stuff. The leather interior is very nice, except on wintery cold days. The automatic side doors have come in handy, and it is one of the quietest cars I have ever owned. It even has guts (for a minivan). All of the gauges are handy, although switching the read outs on the ceiling console is tricky if you are driving.
turning radius rocks! the overall design in sporty, but conservative, real fun to drive considering it's a mini van, not bad on maintenece, lil high gas costs but it does have a 3.8l engine...it'll get you were you want to go, quick!
Won't own another one that's for sure. Put a transmission in at 82,000 and another one at 160,000. Auto Seats had problems, shorted out and stopped working. I have one sliding door that chooses when it wants to lock or unlock and the back liftgate only works when it is warm and dry outside. Not good during wet St. Louis springs or snowy winters. I am in a wheelchair so having that liftgate work is important to me. !st and last Chrysler I will ever own--and they were built in our city, but not anymore!
