Prefer manual transmissions, but this automatic is decent. The 2.2L engine seems to have alot more power than the 2.2L in my '93 Camry manual 5-speed. The 2000 is much heavier, but mileage averages 30mpg. Always kept a quart of Slick50 or DuraLube superoil in the crankcase with the regular 5W-30. Of course, doesn't compare with my wife's 2006 LE with 2.4L 4-cyl engine for acceleration. Maintenance is cheap (like my '93) with easy to change spark plugs and disc brakes (front only, non-ABS). All you have to do is keep decent oil in it and it lasts forever.
