Gets decent gas mileage, been reliable, parts are fairly low cost for the most part, pretty decent acceleration for a 4-cylinder car, steering is pretty responsive, when it needed repairs they were pretty easy to perform myself, the car looks pretty decent, the only thing I really dislike is some of the interior components are kinda cheap, but not too cheap to keep me away from buying another one. And the car is definitely safe.

I was just about to move to Los Angeles with a new job and my Mitsubishi Eclipse was starting to have issues and I didn't want to have to worry about anything breaking down on the drive there or while there. I knew I needed to get a good, reliable car. It fits that bill. There's nothing special about it, it always ran smoothly, I never had to take it in for anything other than an oil change. One time I was driving a group up the hills of Malibu with 4 people in the car. It made it fine but was whining about it. When I moved back to Omaha, I filled it all the way to the top with clothes and monitors and other belongings. When climbing one of the steep grades getting out of CA it was working so hard and I kept losing speed. I eventually made it over the hill but was concerned for a period.

100+ ft lb torque and 125 horses with a 2500 lb.car is more than enough power, matched with a 5 speed I can get 43 mpg hwy. Haven't taken any long trips yet so hope to up the mileage. It's a nice little car, not fancy, but, hey if I wanted fancy I would have bought something else. Just wish GM would have kept their fingers out of Saturn, maybe cars like these would still be available. (less expensive, good performing, reliable & durable) Bought mine in '07 at 64,000 miles & know 200,000 is doable, shooting for 250,000+. If I had the cash, I'd get another one for when this one finally wears out!
