5.9L fast when not at full throttle. Instant power and great throttle response. Sleek flowing design. Doesn't take much to get it lowered to a good stance. Awesome truck to drive anywhere. Haven't replaced anything on the truck. Overall a good, fast, reliable truck.

I race my Dak' in the local SCCA soloII events and have never come in last! The power and handling is unmatched compared to any truck in stock trim.

Had a V8 and a 5 speed but no limited slip rearend kinda fun to drive

This is for a 2000 Dakota R/T. Performance was a little less than thrilling in stock form. However it takes well to mods and can be a real powerhouse. One of the most important things to do is reflash the PCM for a performance tune. It also handles extremely well. It has 95,000 miles on it now with no major or costly repairs and I don't baby it either. The cost of ownership is a bit much. When I bought it, we were all complaining that gas was $1.50 a gallon. $4 a gallon really changes driving habits with this vehicle. Now that I have it the way I like it, I wouldn't be happy driving any other truck.

i do like the truck because it is noce and comfortable with the two bucket seats. but if you want a 3rd adult sitting in the middle it will be cramped and the seat is kinda uncomfortable to sit in. but onto the bed it is a nice 61/2 foot bed. it is the only truck considerded in its class. but overall built very well. for some reason the breaks lock up but that could be just because it hasnt been driven in 2 months
