Handles well, quick acceleration, and good fuel economy. Only needed minor repairs, but never let us down. Outside plastic body panels eliminate rust and door dings. Inside could be nicer, but it was a cheap car. Though i will say that the interior is still looking like new. Hauls fairly large items better than many bigger sedans. Fun and economical make it a good choice for a small family car.

Let's see. Great gas mileage is a definite plus to this car. 29/40! I love that! Also, the five speed version is a must, unless you can't drive stick, in which case-you are metarded! I wish the interior wasn't so cheap looking and feeling, and that's about the only bad thing I have to say about this car. Overall, It's pretty awesome!

It was bought new. Now has 77K. The only repairs was a break job in 2007. 28 mpg around town and 32 mpg highway. It is the only 5 spd that I have now. the pick-up and handling is great.

Had my saturn S for 7 yrs, 4th owner, paid 2000. replaced tranny and clutch, and did about 1500 bucks worth of repairs including that in those 7yrs. Since I bought it, horn doesn't work, and no one can find out why, replaced both fuses, under hood, and inside car. But overall, very happy with it's cheap and reliable condition.
