(5 reviews)This car is rather luxurious for its time. It handles VERY well in ice and snow. Not the best car for drag racing (of course!!!) but very comfortable for long trips. Although it can seat six, it is most comfortable for 4 as the center back seat has a hump and can be rather uncomfortable. All the conveniences really pampers the driver. Auto-dual zone climate control, auto dimming mirrors (drivers side and rear-view), moisture sensing wipers, auto-lights (of course, all cars have it now), Driver Information Center is excellent source of information. Did not have navigation at that time. I drove the Lucerne as a comparison and the Park Avenue really feels much better, in my opinion. Hope Buick brings a version of it back.
I don't have much to say about the vehicle; except comfort at its best! Buick did very good on this Luxury car. I used to get about 16mpg city and 38mpg highway. This car had much better highway mpg than my Altima!! This is a very spacious car. I recommend to anyone who is looking far a large affordable (Not so affordable when brand-new) luxury sedan.
My Park Avenue has been a fun car to drive. It floats down the road and has a very comforatble ride. I like the spaciousness of the interior and always joke that it's like driving you living room sofa to work. I've tested a few new cars and most seem cramped to me.
I don't have much to say about the vehicle; except comfort at its best! Buick did very good on this Luxury car because It feels luxury while being driven. I used to get about 18mpg city and 50mpg highway. This car had much better highway mpg than my Altima!! This is a very spacious car. I recommend to anyone who is looking far a large affordable luxury sedan.
I purchased my 1999 Park Avenue used in 2003, and The car is just enjoyable to drive as it was when it was purchased. At 11 yrs old and 147,000 miles it has held up very well, only needing minor transmission repair at 130,000 miles. The series II 3800 engine is plenty powerful and has no problem maintaining 85 mph with a full load. Gas mileage is also great, about 25 mpg in town, over 30 on highway trips. The only thing I dont like are the chrome rims, two of the rims were very leaky and were replaced with a pair of Oldsmobile aluminum rims. When it comes time for a replacement I will definetley try to find a newer low mileage Park Avenue
