Performance- The acceleration is painfully slow, braking is secure and slightly surprising in an emergency stop, handling is predictable and easy to control but rollie pollie. Cost- One of the cheapest cars ive ever known of to own. Has never had a single mechanical problem. Gas mileage is quite good (up to 30 combined)

This has been a fine car for my family. While I have driven it, it avoided all hazards in my path, provided reliable transportation for my family, and has been decent on gas. It isn't a pleasure car but it gets the job done well.

I like how smooth and reliable this car has been. For being a 15 year old car, it has decent acceleration with the 2.2 engine. The car is fun to drive since I know it won't randomly die on me.

This is the car the Toyota built & modeled for the Lexus excluding the body. I am a die hard Toyota/Lexus owner. The '98 Camry is just unbelieveable for a car with over 100K miles. Just keep it serviced & it goes & goes. Some owners say the 4cylinder 2.2 is slow. Our 98' Camry is super fast at the line & when you need pickup for passing on the highway. There are no squeaks & any rattles just take addressing or tightening. The interior is good as is the exterior. The maintenance is cheap & the mileage I get is 32-33 on the highway & 24-25 in the city. It is a breeze to drive & my kids love it too.
