Over all nice car. You have to keep in mind, that in 1998, this was the sporty sedan Regal built. If you look at it close, it has more of an agressive, youthful stance to it than the Century or LeSaber or Park Avenue. It definently fits a classy stature and makes an impression even for its age.

Just a plain ole car. At least it is an American make. I spray painted the whole thing last summer. It is my wives winter beater. She has a Camaro for the summer and I have a Blazer for ever.

I drive a 1998 Buick Regal LS. My family acquired it from a family memeber, then it was pasted on to me when I left for college. The car is from Ohio, so being in Virginia, they noticed a lot of rust on the underside do to the salt and from it being parked in grass for many years. I wish the car had the available turbo for that year, but it doesn't. The car does pick up well, and a 45/55 to 60/70 mph pass can be done in about 10 seconds, depending on how close to the car you are and how much of a run you have. When cutting the line on on and off ramps, the car stays stable. Sometimes it feels like there is some over steer in it, and it gets touchy at high speeds, but that is to be expected. It stops when needed, and can stop on a dime when really needed. I don't think there is anti lock on it (sad i don't know) but I have had to screeched to a hualt, literally to avoid going through a red light, and it was all locked up. The car has some difficult blind spots, that you really have to adjust the mirrors to see. It has a pretty high back end, but at the same time, it is short, so you can bet pretty close to things backing up, and as long as you're careful, you won't hit it. The car shifts pretty well, although, after punching the throttle for a day, it does not like to shift into 5th to sit at about 1600 rpms at 55mph. It would rather stay in fourth at about 2000 rpms at 55, in case you want to punch it for a pass or something. The car is now 11 years old and it does not have any squeaks, rattles, clanks, or any other odd noises. Nothing is broke due to wear and tear. Everything that is dinged or slightly broke, has been due to me miss judging turns. The car is a solid car and has stood well in Virginia traffic. Even with rust from Ohio, it has now become accoustomed to the warm Virginia weather. The cars apperance is not ravishing, but it does have class. The lines of the car are straight on the sides and curved in the front and back, giving it a look of retro sportiness. It is a grandma's performance car, or was. It does have a sportier look than the Century, but it is more of an innocent aggressiveness. It is a big car, and the belt line is slightly high, making the car look thicker. The greenhouse is slightly cramped. Being 6'4", my head hits the roof with me seat all the way upright. The leg room in the back is not very sufficient for a person my height either. The problem there I think lies in the fact at how thick the driver and passenger seats are. About six inches at the base. The controls of the car are easy to manage and it has a great stock stereo. The antenna reception is not that great, but, the CD quality makes up for it. The only option I don't like on the car is the fact that you cannot turn the lights completely off. The cost of ownership is not that bad. The routine oil change, and occasional tire, I have not had any major things to pay for on it. The car tells me it gets around 21 or so miles to the gallon. I have not kept my gas mileage lately, but that would make sense. I think the car is fun to drive. What I always have to think is that back when this car was new, this car was tight! Now, it is just another daily driver like many cars on the road, but that's what they are built for. I feel pretty classy as a college kid to be driving it. I feel that right now, it fits my style. I like my Buick Regal! I would recommend it to friends, although, many of the people I know already have cars, that are nicer and newer.
