Well it is a great family car that gets relatively good gas mileage but it has the turning radius of a whale. It has a ver spacious interior with great air conditioning. I gotta say this thing is durable its been wrecked 3 times and a tree bent it in half and its still running.

I believe the newer Taurus are more sleek and stylish... I would actually consider getting one of those. Henry was a great car who got me through high school and college. :)

This car has saved my life back in 2007 I hit a concrete barrier head on at 67 miles and hour trying to avoid a deer. The air bags deployed and even the car started up after three trys of the key turn after pushing the engine block back six inches I am currently trying to find another one even if its a project car. Mine happened in 1998 model I recommend the 1996-1999 Taurus any day as a first car.

Its really comfortable. Plus it seats eight. and also the stock speakers in it get pretty loud. the only problem i have with it is the radio doesnt like cassette adaptors and tranny downshifts from 2nd to 1st pretty hard.

If you ever read consumer reports back in the 90's you would see bad reviews on american made cars. Things like reliability in the bad or worst. This is different, this is a ford and during those 90's there was a sedan that could handle a family road trip The length of the car is about sedan sized, but the difference is it is a little wider, and longer to boot. That means the turning arc is more of a diagonal slice then a curve going forward as the car rear of the car does not rotate as much. In congested parking situations you need the whole width of the traffic lane before turning. The back may be clear but the front can still hit the car that is perpendicular to your space. Worry about the other car more cause a small scratch leaves only bits of paint and a tiny fixable deformation, the other newer car gets dented and all scratched up while costing more, hmmm.... Gas mileage is the same as the 90's and 2000's, it is the same in any 3.0 liter six cylinder ,and the funny thing is the gas tank is the same size as any other newer car and still gets the same mileage or can cruse at 65MPH only at 2k RPM's I think of the car as more of a cruiser then a sedan, but the benefits is it is a cruiser with sedan engine performance. As if people make six seat capacity sedans anymore There are drainage holes under the truck carpet to drain the trunk if any water got in the trunk, which it did. So fear not future classic collectors, Ford thought of everything.
