performance is very good considering the engine size and weight. nice smooth engine. quality is also excellent. very complex car which is its weakness. looks is conservative to current trends but i like it looks elegant.cost of ownership is very expensive even with independent shops. costly fun toy. if one can remove the non essentials, this car is a keeper

This is a very well built car. I bought it with 70k km on the meter in Sept 07. Quiet, supercomfortable (I am 6'6" mostly legs and arms), overall handles like a dream with a bit of rolling when corners are taken a bit faster, fuel consumption depends on driving. Driven with some pushing of the pedal 7.5L/100km in hilly countryside, driven sensibly 10L/100km - you can get better mileage in flat country. Not bad for a this engine moving over 4000lbs. Driven a Lexus L430, 2001. Has more gadgets, but the Merc drive is nicer, more comfortable, and when you get in, the feel is more luxurious and that is for a car 6 years younger.
