MyJeep Cherokee has been one of my best vehicles I have ever owned. I've owned around 40 vehicles in my lifetime. I owned 2 Cherokee's and both of them are still running today. My 87 was a 4dr w/4wd. It was reaching the 300k range and didn't miss a beat when I sold it. The thing I hated about both of them was the rear hatch. They started to leak and new seal didn't help. They were garage kept so I really didn't look into it further. I believe they both use the nissan pathfinder overdrive transmissions. I don't care for the ignition coil that it uses. I've replaced it twice. Think I'll rewire it so I can use a MSD blaster 2 coil that should kill two birds w/one stone.
