The UNO is a great car for students - it doesn't drive tears into your eyes when you pay the bill at the petrol station, it is small enough to park virtually anywhere and it is cheap to maintain. Having only a 1.1L engine with carburator, performance is not one of its strong points, but it gets you from point A to B just like any other car - going 120km/hour on the high-way is also not a problem. The seating and body positioning in the car is very different to the newer car models - you sit straight up and your face is almost right up against the window - I love that. Fuel consumption is acceptable and there are few parts that can break if the car is driven responsibly. Having no power steering or other nowadays common electric gadgets, it is really fun since you actually have to drive it (not like the modern cars who practically drive themselves). There is no motor sound insulation so you can hear the revs very clearly - that gives it so much character!

Alright it was fun to drive, I admit it, and it's quite reliable. I'd never consider owning such a tiny thing though.

I liked every thing about her, she was like a true friend I had a dream for her to convert to Uno Turbo but bad luck got me, although she had a 1.0 bliss willy 45 hp engine.. she performed very well.... I miss you hun. :)

Cars with 1.0 liter engines receive tax breaks from the Brazilian government. Fiat was the maker with a head start. I bought the car since it was affordable.
