(9 reviews)The Mighty Glacier - it's slow and accelerates like a bad Jeremy Clarkson analogy, but sweet God is it sturdy. This thing took out a massive quad-cab super duty pickup truck and only lost a turn signal cover. Hooray for Swedish steel! It also has the tightest turn circle of any car I've ever driven (yes, tighter than a Lotus Elise o_O) and it just keeps going. Even on three cylinders, it still gets 20mpg.
The Accelerarion is excellent, Braking is good, Handling could be a little better. It has all the normal squeaks and rattles a normal car does. The car has never left me stranded. The car is very well balanced to include everything but, still be as simple as can be. It gets alright gas mileage between the 22-25mpg range. As far as fun factors go the car has the abiilities to run with most cars out there with little work. So for a sports car in disguise the fun factor is definitely way up.
This was simply a carbon copy of our 1987 model with less miles and a different paint job.
A Volvo 740 GLT 2.3 16 V 155 HP, My very first car, It was a present of my dad, I was 18 years. It had already 374.000 km and was still brandnew, not a scratch! I had so much fun with this car, it's hard to describe. It was big, fast, drifting was it's second name. And maybe it's hard to understand for a lot of people but to me it was an encredible beautiful, gorgeous car(in 1991 it had a new back ligths, and the front was like the 940, see picture). The first company car that gave me such a feeling of pride is the S80 I drive nowadays.
It is an awesome first car. Feels solid and sturdy on the road. Around 25 miles per gallon on gas/petrol. fun in the snow, love the real-wheel drive. Electronics are a bit iffy. I have a dim headlight and a replaced radio and taillight. Also no clock or interior light. Handcrank Sunroof doesn't work. All electric windows work. Trim randomly falls off, but it is a 19 year old car with 230,000 miles on it. Engine ran smooth after I added some fuel injector clearer. Minimal amounts of rust even with an entire life in Maine. Used to be a resteraunt's car. The rear doors stick, mostly due to a locking problem. Pulled a doorhandle off on accident because the door was stuck and it was cold outside. So overall the metal and engine are great, but the electronics and plastic has a habit of failing. If i were to change anything, I'd make it a wagon.
