(6 reviews)This was a great first car. I bought it for $1200 in my senior year for high school with the cash I had saved from working 3~4 summers for my uncle. Nothing very special about it but that emotional attachment from it being my first car. I was a good car overall, it started up great, cruised well, went though snow like a tank, was good on gas, and had a great interior. Not much of a sports car with a 2.5L inline 4 cylinder but it had its moments... haha.
Decent riding mid-size sedan, quite comfortalbe and doesn't perform too poorly. However, the design sure doesn't stand out, barely anything about this car does though i can still recommend it as economical and comfortable transportation with a funny LED RPM gauge. If you want a little more performance, Buick Park Avenue Ultra provides it.
Performance is terrible, the top speed is around 85 mph, because of it's 2.5 liter in-line 4 engine. This car is solid american built. This car is alright to the environment because of it's 22 mile per gallon rating. Even though this car is 22 years old it still drives strong and gives good gas. I also love the radio in the Buick.
I got this car for $500 used back in 2008 and it only had 55k miles on it. For the first year/year and a half, I didn't have any major problems. But once it got to a certain point, I started having problems with the brakes, brake lines, gas lines, gas pump, water pump, etc...and many of these issues, mainly the brakes, have re-occured in the past year. Driving the car itself is a bore, and it's very slow for a 6 cyclinder. You aren't going to pick up many chicks in this thing. It will, however, get you from point A to point B. I would only recommend this to a young kid that is still in school.
Performance - Not meant for the young folks! Everything operated slowly. This is definetly a car meant for older folks. Build Quality - When it got to a certain age everything just when down hill. Other than that everything was mostly well put together. Appearance - Are you kidding me? One of the ugliest cars of 1987. Cost of Ownership - Other than the bad gas mileage everyhing was pretty reliable. It was as reliable as a Maytag appliance. Fun Factor - Are you serious? It's a Buick, otherwise known as an OPC - Old People Car.
