$650 beater purchased during 08' Summer. perhaps the most reliable car i have ever bought. gets from A to B without complaint. Car costs close to nothing to run. Peppy 1.5L SOHC motor great on gas around town, with a long throw 5speed OD tranny. hauls lots of cargo, and people in comfort. simple, spartan vehicle.

1986 Honda Civic CVCC 1500 Statiowagon, with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder 2-barrel carb, 4 door with hatchback and a 5 speed to boot!

I didn't actually do this... it was a great little car, still going (after being written off at least three times and almost half a million kilometers later). Apparently it handled better than the porsches of the same year (1986).
