(8 reviews)The best car I have owned to date. This was my daily driver for probably around 5 years and I loved every minute of it. From cruising around in the summer time to blasting throw snowbanks in the winter time, this car does it all. A bulletproof drivetrain and engine, along with an extremely sturdy interior add to the experience. I did install a different engine (10v turbo from an Audi 5000), which only made the car better. When I sold the car it was 99% how the factory in Germany would have made a 1986 Audi 4000CS quattro Commemorative Edition Turbo! Pretty much all factory parts were used in the engine bay. Oddly enough I am quite fond of these cars and dont recommend them to my friends, unless they are enthusiasts.
Solid german engineering. Awesome, famous quattro all wheel drive with locking center and rear differentials make for a best-friend in crappy weather. Quattro delivers awesome dry pavement handling and gravel road control. Performance is great and with the 5-speed manual, driving every day is an enjoyable experience to look forward to.
This car wouldnt die. It had 372K miles on it when I sold it. It still ran great! The Quattro drive train was amazing and the bullet proof 5 cylinder inline motor was great, sporty and economical. It had that great Audi sound too, the electricals were a little funky. The torando red paint faded weekly, I wash and wax my cars weekly so i didnt mind. THe sunroof worked when it felt like it and it leaked too! I had to take the cluster out several times becuase my dash lights were burning out. IT turn out that the wiring harness that Audi made wasn't strong enough. It caused fires in some cars. My oil pump went out and had to replace it. My hall sensor came off, fuel pump went out, and it had a small leak in the radiator. I fixed them all and it was simple to do. These cars are so well built and are getting hard to come by. It was a fun car. I got it for free from a girl i used to work with and sold it for $2000 bucks!
The car has an almost perfect body with an exception of minor roof damage, it has a performance ignition, and is a 5 cylinder quatro ( as apposed to the four cylinder non-quatro) it is a pretty fun car when it gets going.
Performance: Amazing on and off the road Appearance: A sore to eyes. Cost of Ownership: Ridiculousy cheap on gas and maintenance. Fun Factor: Doesn't need the roads to be plowed during the winter time. Tears through the snow like a snow mobile.
