I loved it because it lasted almost 30 years... ran and ran as long as you took care of it. It had high resale value on college campuses and had so MUCH room! Gas mileage was fantastic and I could travel from one end of Texas to the other without refilling. The only minus was that it was so noisy and didn't have a/c for summer. The plus on that was that the noise was typical and you knew you have a hardy Volkswagen - a people's car!
