CVT Transmission

Asked by Matrix1101 Oct 13, 2018 at 04:54 PM about the 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My altima has 130k miles. Had whining noise.
Replaced stepper motor in tranny on valve body. It
worked great for 3 weeks and tranny went into limp
mode. Replaced valve body entirely. Tranny still in
limp mode and will not go past 20MPH. I am not
sure what else to do. Any suggestions?

Hit up Nissan for a new transmission. Once you get it fixed dump the car!

Bought my 2016 Nissan Altima new. 3 years later and almost 87,000 miles, my check engine light came on. Took it in and it needed a new transmission. CVT went out. Thank goodness i purchased the GAP insurance or i would have had to pay $5,000. Only had to pay my deductible. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!!!!
