Is it a low battery issue due to alarm running it down or is the security light flashing while trying to crank it? The car should recognize the key or fob now that you found it.

Have you tried the 10 minute reset procedure? Here it is, put key in ignition and turn to acc. Do not try to start. Leave key in this position and you will see the security light flash for 10 minutes. The security light will then be solid for about 20 seconds and go off. When this light goes off you can start your car.
