2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Check gauge light came on oil pressure went to
zero. Checked oil it's fine. I do have an oil leak is
this a sensor , leak problem or oil pump

Did the engine make any lifter clicking noises when this happened? It is likely an oil pressure sensor, but it could be more serious. Probably the proper way to diagnose would be to remove the oil pressure sensor and temporarily install a manual pressure gauge to verify oil pressure. What would I do? I would install a new oil pressure sender and carefully look at the wiring that goes to this sensor. Then I would briefly start the engine listening for any odd ticking oil starvation noises and watch the pressure gauge. If you hear unusual noise or lifter clattering shut it off immediately.
